
Julia Croon is a writer and filmmaker born in Santa Monica, California.
She studied animation at the Kaos Network in the artist district of South Central Los Angeles' Leimert Park. It was here that she began exploring themes of womanism and race in her writing and filmmaking. She went on to graduate from the California Institute of the Arts with a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree.
Julia has since directed and produced numerous music videos and commercials. Her writing has been published by Suspect Thoughts Press and The Homestead Review. Her films and artwork have shown in Los Angeles at The Silent Movie Theater/Cinefamily and Downtown Independent Theater, in New York at Aurora Gallery and in Tokyo at Rocket Gallery.
She currently lives in New York where she freelances in publishing and commercial production.
